E2 Remote — Privacy Policy

1. What E2 Remote Does

E2 Remote is an Android remote control application for Enigma2 satellite receivers (such as those running OpenATV, OpenPLi, or DreamOS). It communicates directly with your receiver over your local network using the OpenWebif API. It does not stream content — it is a controller and programme guide only.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

E2 Remote does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:

• Personal information (name, email, address, phone number)
• Location data
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Usage analytics or crash reports
• Viewing habits or channel history
• Voice recordings — voice queries are processed entirely on-device by Android's built-in speech recognition and are never sent to our servers

3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The following data is stored only on your device and never leaves it:

• Box connection details — the IP address, username and password you enter to connect to your receiver. Stored in Android's private app storage, not accessible to other apps.
• EPG cache — programme guide data fetched from your receiver, saved locally so the app works offline. Automatically cleared when the app is uninstalled.
• Favourites and recent channels — stored locally in app preferences.
• TMDB API key — if you choose to enter one for poster images, this is stored locally and used only to make requests to themoviedb.org on your behalf.

4. Third-Party Services

E2 Remote optionally contacts the following third-party services. These are only used if you enable the relevant feature:

• TVMaze (tvmaze.com) — used to fetch TV show information and poster images when you tap "More Info" on a programme. No personal data is sent — only the programme title. TVMaze's own privacy policy applies.
• The Movie Database / TMDB (themoviedb.org) — used to fetch movie poster images and cast information if you provide a TMDB API key in Settings. No personal data is sent. TMDB's own privacy policy applies.

E2 Remote has no relationship with TVMaze or TMDB beyond making standard API requests on your behalf.

5. Network Permissions

The app requests INTERNET permission solely to communicate with:

• Your Enigma2 receiver on your local network
• TVMaze and TMDB (for programme information, if used)

No other network connections are made.

6. Children's Privacy

E2 Remote is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised date. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
